U.S. Navy SBIR Contract Award (1-23-2013)
Candent Technologies is now under contract with the U.S. Navy for a thirty month
Phase II SBIR program. This program is a follow-on effort to complete the
final design and produce a concept demonstration prototype waste heat recovery
system for Naval shipboard applications. This advanced system can be
applied to power generation and other industrial processes to produce electrical
power from the process waste heat.
U.S. Navy SBIR Contract Award Notification (4-10-2012)
Candent Technologies has been notified that it has been selected for the award
of an SBIR Phase I contract from the U.S. Navy. This Phase I program is
the first step in the development of a high efficiency heavy fuel propulsion
system for small surface unmanned craft. Applications of the technology
extend to remotely piloted air vehicles, as well as other small manned and
unmanned vehicles, both military and commercial.
U.S. Navy SBIR Contract Award Notification (1-21-2011)
Candent Technologies has been notified that it has been selected for the award
of an SBIR Phase I contract from the U.S. Navy. This
program is designed to demonstrate a bottoming cycle system for large ships that
will substantially improve the efficiency of the their power generation and
propulsion systems.
DOE SBIR Contract Award Notification (8-3-2010)
Candent Technologies has been notified that it has been selected for the award
of an SBIR Phase II contract from the U.S. Department of Energy. This
program is designed to demonstrate key elements of a high efficiency distributed
power generation system based on our proprietary high performance gas turbine
engine technology.
DOE SBIR Contract Award Notification
(11-23-2009)
Candent Technologies has been notified that it has been selected for the award
of an SBIR Phase I contract from the U.S. Department of Energy for application
of this engine technology to advanced power generation. The contract period is for six
months and work is expected to begin in late December.
U.S Navy SBIR Work Started (11-17-2009)
Candent Technologies is now under contract to the U.S. Navy for the design
modifications required for application of this engine technology to small
craft. The contract is an SBIR Phase I effort to be conducted over
the next six months.
ONR Study Contract Awarded (7-1-2009)
Candent Technologies has been awarded a nine month study contract by the Office
of Naval Research to examine additional improvements in specific fuel
consumption that would be provided by the insertion advanced technology
subcomponents in our demonstrator engine.
Technology
Demo Testing Completed (5-28-2008)
Phase II+ Full Scale Engine Testing was recently completed verifying the engine
design and performance capability. Test engine fuel consumption is within
5% of the fully developed engine performance goal. Future design and
development efforts will be centered on the commercialization of this exciting
new engine technology.
Technology
Demo Testing Continues (12-15-2007)
A second test series was successfully completed, closing out the Phase II Army contract.
Additional performance demonstration and component performance mapping is being
conducted under the Phase II Plus Program. Test results are verifying the
validity of the basic underlying technology being developed. Engine
testing is expected to resume early in the first quarter of 2008.
Technology
Demo Testing Underway
Full scale demonstration testing for the U.S. Army program is being conducted at
our new test facility. One series of tests has been completed and we
expect to be back on test with modifications in the near future. This testing
will close out the Phase II SBIR program and start the Phase II Plus
program.
We've Moved!
Candent Technologies has moved into a new facility to accommodate the growth
that we have recently experienced. Please note the new address and phone
numbers in our contacts page. This new facility includes extensive
component test capabilities and room for additional growth.
U.S. Army Phase II Plus Contract Award
Candent Technologies has been awarded and is now under contract to perform
additional development and testing on the advanced technology being developed
for the Army. This contract will be conducted in 2007 as a follow-on
program to the Phase II SBIR program that took place in 2005 and 2006.
Indiana 21st Century Fund Grant
Candent Technologies has been selected for a grant from the Indiana 21st Century
Fund This grant will be used to expand the
demonstration of advanced engine technology being conducted for the U.S. Army
under the SBIR Phase
II program and will make Candent Technologies eligible for additional Army Phase
II Plus funding.
U.S. Army Phase II SBIR Contract Award
In November of 2004 Candent Technologies was awarded a Phase II SBIR contract by
the Army as a follow-on to their successful Phase I concept definition and
preliminary design effort. The Phase II contract will conduct demonstration
testing of the advanced technology studied in the Phase I program
U.S. Army Phase I SBIR Contract Award
A Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase I contract was awarded to Candent Technologies to define
advanced concepts for performance enhancement of turbine engines suitable for small
unmanned aircraft and drones. Effort on this initial Phase I contract was
successfully completed in June of 2004.
